Im Steuerungskreis (Geschäftsführer, Pflegedirektion, Ärztliche Direktion, QMB, Betriebsrat und andere) wird monatlich strukturiert über QM berichtet. Kennzahlen wie Patientenzufriedenheit, Anzahl von CIRS-Meldungen, Dokumentationsqualität geben dabei Hinweise auf mögliche Handlungsfelder.

Es gibt eine Arbeitsgruppe, das CIRS-Team, welches eingegangene Meldungen von Beinahe-Zwischenfällen bewertet. Meldungen, abgeleitete Veränderungen werden monatlich in der Betriebsleitung berichtet, weiter in der Chefarztsitzung. Dort sind die Verantwortlichen aller Fachabteilungen vertreten.
